Candle Care

Burning Instructions

Trim the wick to 1/4" before lighting.

Burn for 3-4 hours at a time to ensure the melt pool reaches the edge of the candle container before extinguishing.  This will help to prevent a “tunneling” effect and is especially important during the first burn.

Place your candle on a level, fire-resistant surface.

Do not burn your candle for any longer than the maximum recommended burn time, typically 4 hours.

Keep your candle free from any foreign material, this includes wick trimmings and matches.

Extinguishing your Candle

We advise using a candle snuffer to extinguish your candle. This will prevent your wicks from drifting off-center and will maximize your candle burn time. Blowing out your candle is not recommended as the liquid wax may splatter and your wick may continue to glow and emit a small amount of smoke – which is perfectly natural when you extinguish a candle by blowing out rather than using a snuffer.

Trimming the Wick

Before lighting your candle, always trim your wick to 1/4" with a pair of sharp scissors or a pair of candlewick scissors. This encourages your candle to perform to it’s best, providing the cleanest burn possible and an even burn.

Candle Storage

Candles are sensitive to light and temperature, you can avoid your candles from cracking and melting by storing your candles in an upright position and in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Our coconut apricot wax is all-natural and known to shrink when exposed to the cold.  Air pockets or bubbles are completely normal.

Keep your candles dust-free by using the lid or dust cover provided with your glass candle and with lid provided with the travel candle.

Vessel Repurposing

All of our candle vessels can be beautifully repurposed.  Our bread bowls make great catch-all containers by the front door or can be used for decorative displays (see picture on the left).  Our "whiskey glass" containers are perfect for a cold drink (see the picture on the right).  And our travel tins are great for small items like paper clips, hair bands, Q-Tips, etc.
